Community Spirit Reigns at The Royce

March 18, 2022

Like so many Australians, the community at The Royce were overcome with sadness and helplessness as the Queensland and New South Wales flood devastation unfolded.

Despite The Royce being on high alert for flooding, we were fortunate to be spared from flooding nearby in Penrith and Western Sydney. But sadly, many in our community were not as lucky.

In a show of support, The Royce held a Flood Relief food and clothing hamper drive. We put the call out for residents and staff members to donate items of unworn clothing, non-perishable food items, groceries, toiletries, nappies, and new homewares such as kettles and kitchen utensils.

The response from The Royce community was truly heart-warming. We were thrilled to collate a van-full of items which were collected by our good friends at WestCare Penrith. The items were given to those most in need by WestCare on behalf of our residents and staff.

Maurice, Bianca, and the team at The Royce would like to sincerely thank our community for rallying together to help those affected. We hope this will go some way, big or small, in helping those people rebuild.
