Royce’s Big Walk, launched by the rugby league icon Royce Simmons, is set to return in 2024! Be a part of this uplifting event that seeks to raise awareness and funds for dementia research. With a dedicated mission to increase awareness and support essential research projects, the Royce Simmons Foundation continues to offer hope and vital resources to numerous individuals.
This year’s walk will begin on August 6 and promises a 300km journey through Sydney, with stops at several NRL clubs along the way. The adventure will conclude at BlueBet Stadium, just before the Panthers’ Round 24 match against the Storm on August 15. Royce will be accompanied by NRL legends from each of the visited clubs, making this event a truly unique and impactful experience.
In support of Royce’s cause, The Royce held an internal walk with residents, which consisted of walking laps around the courtyard. The day was filled with smiles and positive energy, with a trophy awarded to those who completed the most laps. The Royce team from the Village added some colour to the day by dressing up in colourful 80’s themed costumes with prizes given to the best dressed. To conclude the day, a BBQ was held, raising over $3,000, which was donated directly to the Royce Simmons Foundation. A special thanks to My88FM for live streaming the event and to local Penrith MP, Karen McKeown, for stopping by and showing her support.
Royce Simmons expresses, “Through this event, our goal is to not only raise funds for vital research but also to build a sense of unity and purpose. Together, we can drive significant change and move closer to finding a cure.”
