Celebrating Race Day at The Royce
Combining excellent food, great fashion, and even better company, this year’s Melbourne Cup celebrations certainly made up for lost time!
Flocking to Café Royce, guests were greeted with a glass of bubbly on arrival and were dressed to the nines for a Melbourne Cup extravaganza organised by the social committee.
Celebrity Chef Ross Dobson crafted a world-class menu for the event featuring slow-cooked roast lamb and fresh crispy-skin barramundi which residents and staff enjoyed while watching the excitement unfold on the big screen.
After lunch, the courtyard transformed into a runway for our very own ‘Fashions on The Field’, where 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes were awarded to the best-dressed. From fascinators to full jockey ensembles, the judges had a hard time choosing between the sartorial splendour of the well-dressed crowd.
Our Melbourne Cup event marked the first time since the easing of lockdown restrictions that our community was able to gather, making for a fantastic afternoon filled with laughter, fun, and friends reuniting.
